Cursus BrevisDe Colores · Free for Cursillistas
Your Fourth Day, one small step at a time.
For everyone who has shared a weekend, a team, a group reunion or an Ultreya. One short note every couple of days, each with a single small thing to try. Piety comes first, then study, then action at home.
- Piety: the Morning Offering before the phone, one page a day with the Gospel, a rosary in a busy house, and the prayer that ends the day.
- Study: ten minutes a day, with a saint for company. No library card required.
- Action: it starts at your own front door, with the family calendar, the dinner table, and a friend who might be ready for a weekend.

Every couple of days, one short note with one small thing to try. Fifteen in all.
Keep what helps
You don't have to keep every step. Keep the one that helped most, offer it to God, and keep showing up.
From Marty
Why I wrote these
I made my Cursillo in 1995 at Bishop Lane Retreat Center. It's where a lifetime of going through the motions turned into a faith I could actually live. Since then I've worked more than seventy weekends, in English and Spanish, and the tripod still holds me up: piety, study and action.
About forty people in my family have made a Cursillo weekend, my parents and all five of my children among them. None of that happened by accident. Each one started with someone asking.
Our weekends lasted three days. The Fourth Day is the rest of our lives, and it's lived in ordinary places.
Questions
How often will you email me?
About every couple of days, fifteen notes in all. Each one is short enough to read before the house wakes up.
What's the free gift?
My guide to writing a Catholic prayer in your own words, one step at a time, using the five forms of prayer.
Will you try to sell me something?
Some notes mention journals and planners from the Cursus Brevis shop that go along with the step. You never have to buy anything, and every step works on its own.
